Gina L. Micchia, DO  
Dr. Gina Micchia DO, Primary Care Partners at Ligon Mill

Dr. Gina Micchia grew up in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania.  After attending Medical School in Philadelphia and meeting her husband, Dr. Joseph Micchia, they relocated to Columbus, Ohio to complete their residency.  Once this was completed, she then practiced medicine in Hermitage, PA and was affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.  During that time, she acted as the Medical Director of the Womancare Center of UPMC Horizon, practiced family medicine with her husband and partners, and acted as a school physician for Hermitage School District. 

After moving from Pennsylvania to North Carolina, she joined North Raleigh Primary Care in 2006 and practiced there for four years.  She and her husband decided to start their own venture and formed their own practice in Wake Forest in 2010.  This enables them to be closer to home.

Dr. Gina has a special interest in women’s health issues including menopause, adolescent healthcare, office gynecology and preventative health for women.  In addition, she also practices general medicine including management of diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol and other common medical issues. 

In her spare time, Dr. Gina can be found driving her children to their sporting activities, watching them play soccer, and playing tennis.

Joseph M. Micchia, DO  
Dr. Joseph Micchia DO

Dr. Joe Micchia grew up in Sharon, PA.    Upon completion of Medical School in 1994 and marriage to his wife, Dr. Gina Micchia, he completed his residency in Columbus, Ohio.  He later moved to Hertimage, PA where he was in private practice with his wife and partners.  He also then began his affiliation with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where he served as Vice Chief of Staff from 2002 to 2004 and Chief of Staff from 2004 to 2006.

Upon his move from Pennsylvania to North Carolina, he practiced for 4 years at North Raleigh Primary Care.  After careful consideration, he and his wife chose to start their own venture and formed a practice in Wake Forest in 2010.

Dr. Joe’s special interests are in preventative care and sports medicine.  This includes evaluation of sports injuries and chronic disease management. He is also a Certified Sleep Specialist.

He enjoys cheering his children on at their soccer games as well as golfing.

William G. Clark, MD  
Dr. William Clark

Dr. William Clark, who was born in Long Island, New  York, relocated to North Carolina to attend Davidson College where he received a BA in economics.  He then completed his medical residency at North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC.
 
Dr. Clark has practiced in North Carolina since 1981.  He has served as the Medical Director as well as a practicing provider at Wake Health Services in Raleigh, NC.  For many years he was an Emergency Department Physician in Charlotte, NC as well as volunteering as the Clinic Director of a homeless clinic. 

The past 16 years he has provided services at the Wake Forest Urgent Care, Wake Forest, NC, which he also served as its Medical Director.
 
His interests include community development, historical preservation and sporting events, which he enjoys with his children.
